🔒 Enable HTTPS for Your Website

for 🔒 Enable HTTPS for Your Website at NIU Ltd.

What are HTTPS and SSL certificate?

HTTPS, through the SSL certificate protects your website. It provides privacy, critical security and data integrity for both yourself, as a website owner, and also your users’ personal information.

The following are the key benefits:

  • SSL Encrypts Sensitive Information;
    It keeps sensitive information sent across the Internet encrypted so that only the intended recipient can understand it.
  • SSL Provides Authentication;
    This means you can be sure that you are sending information to the right server and not to an imposter trying to steal your information.
  • SSL Provides Trust;
    Web browsers give visual cues, such as a lock icon or a green bar, to make sure visitors know when their connection is secured. This nurtures a sense of trust within your user base.
  • SSL is required for PCI Compliance;
    One of PCI’s compliance requirements is the use of an SSL certificate. Without this compliance, you would not be able to accept credit card information on your website.

Google sets HTTPS deadline. What does this mean?

Google has confirmed that its web browser, Chrome, will start to explicitly warn users that a site is insecure. Chrome enjoys more than 50% of the web browser market, meaning, that the majority of users will be impacted.

A prominent warning will be shown in Chrome’s address bar, indicating that a website is “Not secure.” This warning will show for all http websites. This will reduce the level of trustworthiness of a website, leading users to move away from the given site. This would, in turn, impact negatively bounce rates, advertising impressions, affiliate clicks, and eCommerce sales.

Through this move, Google is seeking to move all websites to be secure via HTTPS and SSL certification by default.

How can we help?

Through all of our projects, security and privacy are kept central throughout the development process.  NIU has created numerous websites that incorporate SSL certification. We are therefore able to set up SSL certification for your web page.
