As part of their CSR policy for 2013, Malta’s Innovative Entrepreneurs 2013 NIU Ltd are committed to share their success and teams’ talent and give back to the community. During 2013 NIU’s directors James Abela and Matthew Sammut have embarked on a number of unique projects which will help institutions to create more awareness for their entities.
‘In the past we’ve sponsored a number of NGOs and artists and have assisted them in the development design of their website and in some cases also helped them to design brand guidelines to ensure they benefit from the maximum amount of possible exposure. In some cases, the websites launched were not only an essential communication tool for these entities and individuals, but also is a great way of generating revenue through advertising which is always an added value for these organizations. This year we’ve embarked on a project with the hard working, energetic Dr Klown Team and have launched the webportal www.drklown.org’ James Abela, director of NIU explains
Dr Klown is a non-governmental organisation that provides clown doctor services to children in Mater Dei Hospital. Inspired by the character of Patch Adams, Dr Klown started offering this service in Malta’s hospital thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers. Coming from all walks of life, the volunteers were trained by Dr Klown in artistic skills support by psychological training. Dr Klown is in the process of expanding its family of clowns and is after committed people who are ready to volunteer their time for a good and fun cause. Dr Klown is after people who are ready to be themselves, have fun and have a laugh. Interested individuals can start this unique and satisfying journey online.
‘The dynamic Dr Klown team is now on a mission to attract as many volunteers as possible, so the NIU team has started the online campaign by launching a membership form. We encourage anyone who has a flair to communicate, entertain and make people smile to join in this wonderful project. Selected participants will undergo both artistic and psychological training. We’re doing our part, now it’s time for you to do yours! Fill in your details on www.drklown.org and the Dr Klown team will be in touch’ Matthew Sammut, director of NIU concluded.
