Josanne Cassar, well known through her various forays in the local media, now has a brand new website by NIU. Going by the tagline of ‘Interviewing Malta’, the site not only allows Cassar her own avenue to air her views and writing, but also provides her with a hitherto rather unexplored niche in the local media sphere, most especially the online news market.
Cassar’s decision to get a website came upon finding herself without a job. Quickly deciding she had no wish to work for anyone she took the plunge and became a self-employed writer and journalist. Her decision to go with NIU for the site was bolstered by the fact she had previously had dealings with the company, as a member of the VOICES committee, whose website NIU also created. Josanne remembered that NIU created a very user friendly site which catered exactly to the needs outlined, all while being efficient, prompt and most importantly, delivering on time and replying to emails.
The idea behind the new website look was that it was to be a clean, professional looking, user friendly site, in the fashion of a newspaper. The developers and designers at NIU understood Cassar’s concept right away and set to work.
Much to Cassar’s sense of urgency, the original delivery time for the website had to be speeded up, and for a while, she doubted NIU would deliver the final product on time, however, they did so, and in one fourth of the original time estimates. Not only was Cassar satisfied, but she went on to say “The positive feedback I have been receiving has continued to confirm that choosing NIU was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
Technically speaking, the site is rather simple, however, the goal has never been to make a flashy website. The point of this site is Josanne’s writing, her interviews and features, so the site is aimed to be easy to navigate and read. It will be a mainstay of dependable news and incisive interviews, as well as assist Josanne in this particular juncture in life. Now that it takes her literally two minutes to get to work by just logging in and start writing.
